Dermaplaning is a non-invasive form of manual exfoliation that resurfaces dehydrated, dull, and aging skin. Our trained Aestheticians use a specialized blade to gently remove dead skin cells and Vellus hair (peach fuzz). This exfoliation encourages cellular regeneration, resulting in a smoother texture including the softening of fine lines, scars and sun damage. The treatment may be performed every 3-4 weeks to preserve the results.  Your skin will immediately feel smoother and appear more vibrant as the dull dead skin cells have been removed.  Dermaplaning before a procedure would also help enhance the effects of many different services; such as the absorption of a chemical peel or cosmeceutical grade skincare products.

The Vellus hair that is removed is the fine, translucent hair that you find on your cheeks, jaw and neck. When Vellus hair is cut, the structure of the hair does not become damaged, therefore it is impossible for it to grow back thicker (a common misconception). Coarse, terminal hairs must be removed with electrolysis, sugaring or laser hair removal.

The ideal candidate is one with relatively clear skin, fine lines, or moderate acne scarring. If you have severe or cystic acne, extremely sensitive skin, a bleeding disorder or are taking blood thinners we do not recommend Dermaplaning.
